I’m a little embarrassed to be writing on our special forum but I figured if anybody else would know, it would be you ladies. How do you calm down after a long day? What are some of your go-to stress management techniques? Sometimes I get so stressed out, I go for a walk, or sit out on the porch and just stare out into the stars. I’m wanting to connect to other moms around the area too, maybe we can start a night walk if we live close by? I’ve lived in Wallsocket for two generations now and I’m not really recognizing some of the people on my walks. Reach out to me if interested!

This is such a sweet post, Marcy, I’m glad you decided to share with us. I go on walks too, I’ve lived in my house for almost 10 years now and my children love it. I used to live more out country with my parents who are still there, grandpa owns a horse, that kind of thing. Sometimes I miss the country, oh well!
You live closely?
I’m sure we live closely, especially if you’ve lived around for the past ten! I think a lot of our neighborhood has changed as well, but I still love those little pockets of Wallsocket!
Oh yeah. I feel you girl. I did some online therapy six months ago and they said during “crisis mode” you should take a bowl of ice cold water and submerge your entire face into it and count to 30 seconds. yknow what, I’ve never tried it LOL, the whole taking a bowl and filling up with ice cold water thing feels a little out of my range whenever I’m in an awful place.
That’s interesting.
That’s a nice way to destress. Do you journal?
Sometimes. I haven’t lately because I have been so busy. Physical things help me more, I think.
I go for runs! Silly runs. Silly runs with your jeans on and any kind of sneakers. That way I don’t feel like I have to mentally and physically prepare to go for a jog, I have this mindset that I can just GO. It’s really relaxing and makes me feel in control of my life. Sometimes my daughter joins me! We call it going for silly runs! Go on your silly run.
